What to do when you want to go away someplace together,
but your interests are different?
Here are some suggestions for a have-it-both-ways trip.
Tiana and Sam want to take their first vacation together, but they can’t agree on where to go. Tiana likes going out, dancing, shopping. Sam’s either an ESPN couch potato or hitting the driving range. They need what I call an “option-rich” destination. That means they shouldn’t limit themselves by holing up in some lake cabin or beach house. Try a b ig city vacation that offers Tiana the shopping and Sam the sports arenas. Or consider cruise liners – they can bring Tiana to many ports while Sam gets to hit balls from the ship deck. You also might find a like-minded couple on board to pair off with. Remember, an option-rich vacation spot might even help you find more activities which you two enjoy doing together.
